Pisces Park & Fishery - Local information

Welney in Cambridgeshire is located close to Ely, Downham Market and Kings Lynn. Most seem to have heard of Welney because of the swans. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) reserve in the middle of the Ouse Washes, has been the winter home of thousands of swans and ducks from northern Europe and the Arctic for more than 35 years.

Ely is very attractive retaining many historic buildings with market on Thursday and Saturday each week. It is on the River Great Ouse which is a popular boating area with a large marina.

Kings Lynn has always been a centre for the fishing and seafood industry. There have also been glass-making and small-scale engineering works and today it is still the location for much agricultural-related industry.
